A flat red clay creasing tile from Sandtoft with a smooth surface, measuring 267 x 165 x 12mm. Creasing tiles are flat tiles without nibs, holes or camber, laid in mortar in one or more courses rather than hung on battens.

They are built into masonry for cappings and copings, tile creasing courses on freestanding walls, external sills, corbelling, arches, chimneys and decorative quoins. The low water absorption of the fired clay gives a good bond with mortar. Used for wall cappings and sill courses where a durable fired clay finish is required.
