Thermalite Shield Aircrete Block 3.6N - 440 x 215 x 100mm

Thermalite Shield is a 100mm aircrete block from Forterra with a 3.6N/mm2 compressive strength. Its closed micro-cellular structure traps tiny pockets of air, giving high thermal and sound insulation while keeping the block light to handle. The insulation helps designers meet U-value targets and can reduce CO2 emissions over the life of a building.

Shield is a versatile block for external walls, foundations, partitions and separating walls, including inner and outer leaves of cavity walls above and below the DPC. External leaf blocks need an impervious coating or finish. Sold per square metre. Used for cavity walls and foundations where thermal insulation and a 3.6N/mm2 strength is required.
