The Libra resilient bar is a 3000mm galvanised steel acoustic profile used to improve the sound insulation of plasterboard ceilings and wall linings. By isolating the plasterboard from the structure behind it, the bar cuts noise transfer through walls and ceilings.

On a conventional ceiling the bar is fixed at right angles beneath the timber joists, and it is cut to length with tin snips or a hacksaw. Adding mineral wool insulation within the construction further improves acoustic performance. Used for timber joist ceilings and internal wall linings where improved sound insulation is required.
